Alright, so... It's been a year since I stopped dying my hair. My "Silver Hair Project" hasn't turned out quite so silver. I have like 40% white hair, maybe? And the rest is brown, which doesn't pair too gracely with the silver/white. It should be black&white.
I'm considering dying it again, which is a painful decision because: a) There's no way back. Well, there is, but it means another year of this messy hair thing, & b) Not dying your hair every 3 weeks is one of the most confy things in the world.
Thinking, thinking, thinking.
What I desperately need now is a hairstylist I can trust. I need someone who can give me some advice and help me make a choice, as opposed to someone who already has made a choice for me. Someone who can see through me and beyond, someone who can trust me too.
SO WHERE ARE YOU?

Hearts, Keys, and Puppetry
Author Neil Gaiman has come up with one more cool project, and has generously made it available as a free download. I've just got hold of the audio files and will be listening to them soon.
Hearts, Keys, and Puppetry
By Neil Gaiman and the Twitterverse
Narrated by Katherine Kellgren
“Sam was brushing her hair when the girl in the mirror put down the
hairbrush, smiled, and said, "We don't love you anymore."
So began the Twitter Audio project, with a dazzling first line penned byNew York Times bestselling author Neil Gaiman. What followed was an epic tale of imaginary lands, magical objects, haunting melodies, plucky sidekicks, menacing villains and much more. From mystical blue roses to enchanted mirrors to pesky puppets, this classic fable was born from the collective creativity of more than one hundred contributors via the social network Twitter.com in a groundbreaking literary experiment. Together, virtual strangers crafted a rollicking story of a young girl’s journey with love, forgiveness, and acceptance.

Hello Kitty Galore
In addition to the Kitty'ed up bathroom, now I have finished the cross-stitch project I started (and then abandoned) ages ago. It'll be framed in 2010!
I don't know exactly what urged me to take up cross-stitch again. Probably as a means to procrastinate, and shut up the voices in my head (it always works). Too much free time off work when it was not needed and certainly most inconvenient. I'm happy I finished it, because I get very obsessive about it, stitching away for hours and hours not doing anything else. No keyboard practice, no reading, no writing, no nothing! Totally unacceptable behaviour...

On getting social
I DO want to be considered interesting to that small subculture of people who are so genuinely likeminded and/or engaging that I authentically DO care about what they are saying. I DO want to be respected and loved and be known as a vital part of a select community, not because I asked the right questions to create just enough feigned interest to pass social muster, but because they’re them and I’m me…and that’s enough.
In the end, it’s not about how many hands I shake or the percentage of people in a room who find me interesting. It’s about the 5 people with whom there’s the chance for a genuine connection.
So, here’s a new rule about how to be the most interesting person in a room…
DON’T!
